We aren’t all perfect, as much as we think or hope we are. Even engineers, who are some of the smartest people in the world, make some mistakes. But when they do, the consequences can sometimes be deadly. From an explosion of molasses to a snapping bridge, here are 15 craziest engineering fails in the world.

  • Hey everyone! So its seems that the bridge from the #StarTopic is actually from Uruguay and not India! Wanted to clarify it, since one of our researchers made this small location mistake. Either how, what are your thoughts on the bridge?

    • Did you ever considered the 1986 challenger explosion that was caused by an O ring failure after the shuttle launch was postponed due to temperatures being too cold. When cleared for launch it was the result of an O ring design that wasn't suitable for unusually cold conditions and failed causing fuel to leak and killing everybody on board while millions of school students and others watched it happen. It was such a huge issue even though space launches have failed before, but this one involved a school teacher.

To make it clear. the Takoma bridge had nothing wrong compared to the others bridge and indeed Takoma bridge showed how all the past bridges were all wrong.

  • The first bridge, that is the Tacoma Narrows Bridge that fell. It did not fall into a river but rather the Puget Sound. I spanned the narrowest part of the Puget Sound linking the mainland to the Olympic Peninsula. They rebuilt it, it is still standing and they added a second bridge die to the increased traffic.

  • When we moved to Bremerton Washington in 1992, we stayed I Seattle to pick up a car being delivered. But, I had to drive to Bremerton to get my dog into a kennel while we wait for housing. The morning I drove over the Tacoma narrows( 1st story), it was foggy. I didn't even know I drove over a bridge. I told my husband that there is a big bridge on our way over to Kitsap County. The hotel person told us what that bridge was famous for. Well, I hate bridges as it was. Galloping gurdy didn't help. It was neet to know that the wreckage of the 1st bridge was left and is a reef for sea life. The water is normally too fast for anything to live there without it. We moved back to the east coast in 2003. I found out there is another bridge next to it. Fyi it was needed. Traffic was horrible.

It was not a "narrow bridge" and it fell into Puget Sound, not a river. And NASA never sent a shuttle to bring down Skylab. Try to do some research, clickbait. No like, no sub, because no effort or accuracy on your part.

So the freak freeze was totally unexpected. ... Or was it? I've seen at least one major freeze per each of the past four decades, and they all caused a fair amount of grid failure for more than one day.
